Terms and conditions

Effective and last updated

These terms are an agreement between you and SpeakWisely for using speakwisely.in. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.

In short: practise fairly, keep your account to yourself, bands are AI estimates, and nothing is ever charged automatically.

What is SpeakWisely?

An online English speaking practice service: you speak, it transcribes and analyses your answers, and it gives feedback, estimated bands and practice. Features may change as we improve the service.

SpeakWisely is an independent practice tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by IELTS, the British Council, IDP or Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

What do I agree to when I create an account?

  • to give a real name and an email address you can receive mail at;
  • to keep your password private, and to use the account yourself only;
  • to be 18 or over, or to use SpeakWisely with a parent or guardian’s permission.

What is not allowed?

  • trying to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service;
  • getting around plan limits, or sharing or reselling an account;
  • submitting unlawful, abusive or someone else’s private content;
  • presenting a SpeakWisely band as an official IELTS result.

Are the bands and feedback guaranteed?

No. AI-estimated assessment inspired by IELTS speaking criteria. Not an official IELTS or IDP result. Feedback is produced by software and can be wrong. We do not promise any particular result in a real test.

How do plans and payments work?

  • The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card.
  • Paid plans are bought for a fixed period, in Indian rupees, with GST included in the price shown.
  • Nothing is charged automatically: not at sign-up, not when a plan ends, and not to renew. When a plan ends you return to Free, and your history stays.
  • Payments are processed by Cashfree Payments; their terms also apply to the payment itself.

What each plan includes is on the pricing page. Refunds are covered by our refund and cancellation policy.

Who owns what?

Your answers and transcripts are yours. You let us process them to provide the service, as the privacy policy describes. The SpeakWisely software, design, questions, lessons and model answers are ours, and you may use them for your own practice only.

What are the limits of our responsibility?

The service is provided as it is, and we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as a test result, an admission or a visa decision.

Can an account be closed?

You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Which law applies?

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Gandhinagar, Gujarat have jurisdiction. If we change these terms, we will update this page and its date, and tell signed-in users about significant changes.
