Learn to speak English with AI, for everyday life, work and interviews.
SpeakWisely is an AI English speaking coach that works in your browser. You answer out loud, it listens to what you actually said, and it tells you what to fix: filler words, long pauses, grammar slips, vague vocabulary or ideas that are hard to follow. One short task a day is enough to start.
Choose what you are practising for
When you start, you set a goal, a level and your first language. Practice is picked to match.
- Everyday English
- Chat, explain and tell stories with more ease.
- Speaking at work
- Meetings, updates and explaining your ideas.
- Job interviews
- Answer clearly, give examples, sound confident.
- IELTS preparation
- Build the skills behind a higher band.
How does daily speaking practice work?
Each day you get one speaking task chosen from your skill profile. You answer out loud, the coach asks a follow-up question about what you said, and you get feedback on a communication rubric rather than an exam band.
The rubric covers fluency, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, clarity, organising ideas, storytelling, reasoning, getting to the point, confidence. Try the task again and you see what improved. Your level adapts as you get better, and if you go quiet for a few seconds mid-answer, a sentence starter appears to help you keep going.
What does it measure in your speaking?
Fluency is measured from the timing of your words, not guessed: your pace in words per minute, how long and where you pause, filler words such as “um” and “like”, and repetition. Grammar and vocabulary feedback quotes your own sentences.
Practice tools for specific skills
Beyond the daily task, the practice lab has focused tools for the habits that hold your speaking back.
- 60-second drills
- Short drills that each aim at one habit, such as filler words, pace or pauses, so you can see one number move.
- Role-play
- Real situations with an AI partner whose level moves with you. Choose a British, American, Australian or Indian accent, hide the text if you want a listening challenge, or turn feedback off.
- Interview and event prep
- Tell it what is coming up, such as an interview tomorrow, and get a rehearsal role-play, likely questions and useful phrases.
- Review cards
- Spaced-repetition cards built from your own corrected sentences, so you practise the fixes that matter to you.
- Mistakes fingerprint
- The slips that keep coming back across sessions, with the likely cause.
- Sentence upgrades
- Your own sentences rewritten one CEFR level up. Say them back, or shadow the model voice.
- Pronunciation pairs
- Minimal pairs such as “vest” and “west”, judged by which word was heard. This checks how clearly you are understood, never your accent.
- Unscored rehearsal
- Speak with nothing scored. The audio stays in your browser unless you ask to see your words.
Role-play situations include job interview, visa interview, at the doctor, hotel check-in, restaurant complaint and more.
Explanations that know your first language
Many mistakes come from how your first language works. Choose from 30 first languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, and mistakes can be explained by their cause.
What happens to my recordings?
Your recording is processed and then deleted. It is never stored — only your transcript and results are kept.
